Hi I recently had my first oil change on my Stelvio about 100 miles ago and had this message pop up “ oil change required ” today on speedometer display. I checked the infotainment Service menu and the oil service interval was reseted. The dealership did the oil change at 8700 miles before the 10000 while doing the recalls. Is there a fix without going back to the dealership. Thank you

Saw this posted this on another website for the Giulia. Worth a try..

"Dealer forgot to reset the maintenance light. They said all you had to do was put the car in "ON" position, push the gas petal down five times in 10 seconds, turn the car off, then actually start the vehicle.

Steps:
Turn off the car, open door, close door
Push the Start button to turn on the car's electronics without starting the engine. Don't put your foot on the brake!
Pump gas pedal five times all the way to the floor board, where it feels like you are pushing in a button
Hit the start button again to shut off the car
Start the car"

Its time for this forum to add a Maintemance/howto/uber thread for this kind of info! On all my forums these things keep getting looked for for years down the road! Very handy to have in a readily available location and usually the moderators are the prime movers to this zone.

Has anyone tried this on a 2018 Stelvio and got it to work?

It doesnt work on a 2018. I used the following method from a forum on the 4C.

push start button dont touch the brake. wait a few seconds for the display to wake up. push the gas pedal to the floor and hold it there. then push the brake pedal down 6 times( push brake..hold for 2 seconds, let off brake for two seconds and repeat) start car after 6th time.(let off the gas first). It doesnt give you an indication that it cleared but the warning goes away. I had to repeat this proceedure four or five times.( Not as bad as Mercedes but why not a button like Ford.)

Not having a friggin dipstick is pretty inconvenient as im all dirty from being under the car and have to get in and access the oil level from the infotainment screen. I imagine the braniac that came up with that idea has never worked on a car.

I still have the 9500 mile maintenance due coming up and will have to try a scan tool on that, since its a separate indicator from the oil change one.

I have it written down for when it is time.

Fill to within 1 qt. Start drive, let settle for 5 minutes , then check. Basically same as you should have done with a dipstick. You get used to it. I've had 4-5 cars without the stick now.

No, same thing they would do.

Just an update, finally got a chance to get to my dealer and explain the problem. They just reset the counter and did not change the oil. So in another 9 months I will go back and get the old oil change. Of course this means the oil will be in the car longer than a year. But I was assured this does not effect the warranty. Hmmm well okay then.
