The tune (please don't say chip its the 21st century) will bring our 2.0 up to 320HP, 364Ft-LBS TQ!!
+40Hp, +58 ft-lbs tq. I have never had an issue with his tunes and every vehicle has not only been quicker but has gotten better mileage. see sig for RRS tune!!! Pretty stout for a tune and 3mm smaller pulley!

2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio TiSport EC Phase 2 w/V2 intake, Remus Catback ~390HP / 442ft-lb Tq Visconti Verde, Chocolate Interior, Quadrofoglio wheels w/PZ4's

So... im a bit curious about your thoughts. Obviously a tune itself cannot void a warranty, and the tune for which you speak will most like make the car run better;however, I am a bit concerned what effect having this tune will have, if you have a failure in a related system, for example the transmission. Alfa could potentially deny a claim for any powertrain related system saying the additional HP contributed to the failure. Even if you had the ability to flash back the factory tune, they would be able to see that you did it. What are your thoughts?
Thanks,
Marc

When you tune with ETG, they will redo your tune 2x, so I suppose if you needed to deal with something they could put you back to stock and I bet they could do it remotely as that is how they tuned my XK to begin with.

Well the time is getting near and I am going to be fair to our sponsors at Madness. I have done both kinds of tune in the past. I tuned my 2011 BMW X5d via a Burger Motorsports piggyback to the tune of going from 265hp/425ft-lbs Tq stock to 320/525 when dialed up to 10. I usually ran at ~8 which was supposedly ~310/520. It made a serious difference in the vehicle. I removed and sold it separately later. That would be like the Madness product at $499. On the other end of the spectrum is my ETG ECU reprogram which, as posted above, made the biggest difference I have ever experienced in a vehicle. Their tune is $995 on a Steelvio. It was, of course more on the RRS due to pulley swap. Once I have my recall done, I really don't pay a lot of heed to warranties as they all seem to have more exclusions than inclusions when you read the fine print so both options are real to me.

So Madness, granted they tend to be a bit hype happy with their descriptors, does seem to potentially be a better bang for the buck ??stronger tune than ETG if the 20% is the real deal. ETG has dynoed all vehicles they do prior to relase so their numbers are extremely reproducible.

So do I want what I consider a relatively bulletproof 320/364 upgrade via ETG or do I push the envelope with the Madness product and get a few extra HP under ideal conditions. I know we have bunch of folks here that have done a fair amount of customization. What I do know from being there when my RRS was tuned is Jags logs in to every tune, checks the specs and tweaks them for each individual vehicle before allowing the new upload. It will require a lot more time and effort for the ETG tune. What do you folks prefer? I remember on my 04 STi with Cobb tuning that the attraction of changing things wore out quickly so the bluetooth option does not interest me to be fair. I just stuck with the 93 octane tune for years and let my right foot determine the "MODE" I was in. I know they hate my saying it, but once again, I'd love to see how the area under the curve changes from stock to ECM. I have realized that intake/exhaust changes on our cars are more ear candy than the ~5hp one can expect so that should have little effect if added later. I have provided both links for folks to evaluate. THis is closer than it appears in my thread as $500 is $500 and if you folks think I will get 99% of the result with a madness ecm without have to drive 2.5 hrs and wait 1-3 hrs......

as long as you are comparing I'd suggest including EuroCompulsion on your list.

a dyno test
