V27 Recall

Dealership just sent me a recall card for Recall #V27 to update the BSM software to eliminate positive torque request lock. Anyone had any issues with this? I haven't. Also on My Alfa Romeo app.

Haven't had any issues here but I contacted Alfa Care about it who in turn contacted a local Dealer here (I bought the car out of state) and have not yet heard back from dealer. Alfa Care called me back to see if dealer was in touch with me and said they will be following up with dealer and would call me again Monday. Got to love the customer service and effort here. Will post a follow up the end of next week since I will be out of town until Wednesday.

Can someone tell me what positive torque request lock is?

Could be a lot of things.

Probably something to do with the torque converter requesting power from the engine, could be the center diff/Q4 controller requesting it too, and having that request lock in a mode where it keeps trying to deliver more torque. Probably causes a problem in certain situations (might even be an inadvertent effect of some other coding) so Alfa is changing the programing to get rid of it.

Not really sure though, the language is very vague. What is requesting positive torque from what, is it locking on purpose? Don't know.

This is the ACC recall. The programming glitch can cause the car to speed up instead of disengaging the CC.

Now I know why I've never had an issue because I don't use the Adaptive Cruise Control. Does anyone know what BSM stands for in the Safety Defect Description on the Recall Notice? Something to do with braking I assume?

I am guessing Blind Spot Monitoring as the ACC and Blind Spot Monitoring are interlinked.
