Criswell Alfa Romeo (Stay Away)

Hi All,

So after receiving such poor customer care I decided to warn people about the way they do business.

The jest of the situation is that I had a deal in place for a Stelvio QV and they got greedy, aw well as renege on our deal.

After weeks of going back and forth over the Stelvio price and what they were going to pay for my car ('18 M240i Xdrive with low miles), I thought we had a deal. But the when I went in to test drive the Stelvio, the manager decided not to honor our original pricing agreement to buy my car by telling me that the salesman had no right to agree to that... Fast forward to when we sat down to do final deal, after asking numerous times over email (I asked if $73460 was the final price, they're response was that 'Yes $73460 is the final out the door price') if there was anything else we need to make sure this deal went through they would reply 'nope...just bring the money and your car and the Stelvio is yours. Needless to say they sprung two new items on me when I went to pick up the car. Twenty min into signing the documents to take ownership, they said I needed to buy a new tire for my old car because the tires didnt match, despite me telling them the first time they inspected the car that the tires were different. So they waited to the last min..after inspecting my car three times before telling me I need to buy them new tires. And then they insisted that they run my credit because I was paying in check...despite it being a check from a well known credit union for all but $460 of the total price they quoted me. Oh and if that not enough, when I was going back and forth with the manager over the price of my car and that of the Stelvio he starts getting heated and yells at me "Youre stealing my cars!!'. WTF?

While I am disappointed; I am also relived that I didn't do a deal with these people. They are dumb as F#$% (especially the manager...guy is a downright *******) for allowing $74k to walk out because they got greedy. I would advise everyone looking for a Alfa to stay away...because they are shady as ****.

Bought my car from them back in August and while I still leased the car with taxes and tags down and I'm at $350 a month they did try to get greedy when we got to the finance office.....the lady doing the finance tried to say my credit score was 630 and I didn't qualify for tier 1 thru Ally so the deal we agreed to was going to be higher so I first asked can I see your screen.....first problem was the price she submitted was $4,000 more than what we had on the sheet and then I asked to see a print out of my score.......so she backtrack and then said oh I'm sorry the amount being wrong must have been the problem........I did the deal anyway once we cleared up the confusion but once my lease is up next year I will probably buy another Alfa but not from them.....good thing is their are 2 more Alfa dealers in like a 30 mile radius of them so what you are saying I'm not surprised they did that.

I also contacted Criswell but they did not give me the best quote. Closed my deal with Alfa Romeo of Westbury yesterday on a 2019 Stelvio Ti with an excellent deal. PM for contact info.

Hello, this is the Sales Manager from Criswell Alfa Romeo, I am sorry that you were not happy with my behavior or your experience with our dealership. I usually do not respond to comments on the forums, I believe that this is for the consumer and for dealers to not get involved in the conversations. But after being shown this I felt compelled to respond. The issue that blew up the deal was the fact that the tires on the front of your car were not the OEM tires that were on the BMW when we originally looked at it. When you came in to finalize the transaction, the tires was swapped out due to road hazard damage after we had already appraise the car the first time. One damaged tire was left in the trunk of the vehicle with 2nd one missing. In order for us to honor the original deal we asked you to pay for the missing tire based on tirerack.com rate of $230. We honored our price on the Stelvio and your trade value, but the condition of your trade changed.

Again I apologize for your experience, we are not happy when a customer has a complaint like this, and we do not take it lightly.

And this is why businesses fail. You made a customer walk on a $75k deal over a $230 (Retail!) tire? Like you don’t have access to wholesale pricing on a tire? I’m sure you offered full retail on their trade too and you won’t make a dime on it..

How much do you think this bad press cost you if just one customer read this and went to your competitor? I bet next time you’ll eat the tire.

Shoulda trusted your gut and let it go too.. I doubt your retort will be well received.

This reads like you tried to cheat them and they didn't let you.

Alfa Romeo is Latin for "Yes I will, because of your special car."

See above. Heard this BS before.....These are like Lotus stories....prospective buyer felt the stiffy was coming and ran. Over a tire that THEY made a mistake about during their obviously half a$$ed inspection. Business 101 says eat a tire, make the sale make it up elsewhere. Lack of business acumen = no sale
