Agree. Ideal would be demand swipe and intermittent the only option. The washer sequence works great as is.

So @jwq2 the way I read that there is an intermittant setting to the rear wiper, but you have to turn the rear wiper on then turn the washer on and instead of washing the window the wiper will work in the intermittant mode?

That seems insanly complex, like an easter egg on a DVD, or the clock on a 1980's VCR.

just guessing, I have a giulia myself, though my previous 147 seemed to work more or less similarly....
From manual:
REARWINDOWWIPER/WASHER
Engaging reverse gear with the windscreen wiper operating activates a
single cycle of the rear window wiper.
Moving the stalk fig. 53 (it only has unstable positions):
towards the instrument panel controls rearscreen washing (a short push
activates a washing cycle, holding the stalk pushed controls continuous
washing until it is released);
downwards activates/deactivates continuous rearscreen wiper operation.
With the windscreen wiper already in operation, the rearscreen wiper blade
movement will be synchronised with the
windscreen wipers.

I would think operation of rear wiper is more or less synced with front, so simplified from above:
Engage reverse gear with front windscreen wipers operating: rear wipers will operate regardless of rear setting on/off
Switching on rear wiper with front operational: rear wiper will operate at half the frequency of front wipers

can the rear wiper blade be replaced or does the whole arm need to be replaced? Mopar only has the arm and wiper for like 26 dollars.

I mean who uses the rear wiper?!?!?

Iwill be looking that up as mine is no 2 yrs old. They do bad things to windshields when they fail.

Has anybody removed it yet? I think it is just a snap fitting as I was playing with it a few days back. May get brave tonight!
