Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio Is Finally On Sale

This is the moment we’ve been waiting for, ordering books for the new Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio is officially open today in certain markets. Europe at the very least.

As a high-powered performance SUV featuring the Giulia QV’s 2.9-litre turbocharged V6, outstanding performance numbers were to be expected. Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission, 510 horsepower and 443lb ft of torque are delivered to a Q4 four-wheel drive system.

That’s enough to rocket the Stelvio QV’s hefty 1830kg body from 0-62 miles per hour in just 3.8 seconds before topping out at 176 mph. Performance numbers that helped it set a new SUV record at the Nurburgring with a 7min 51.7sec lap. Of course there’s also the specially calibrated gearbox that can swap gears in 150 milliseconds.

Specs aside, the Stelvio QV will get Active Torque Vectoring as standard though carbon ceramic brake discs will be optional. Its interior has been “tailored like a bespoke suit,” Alfa says. Using the finest of materials including carbon fibre, leather and Alcantara. Expanding that luxurious feel is an 8.8-inch infotainment with 3D navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.

Last CarScoops heard, the Stelvio Quadrifoglio is expected to arrive in the UK in summer 2018 and appear in North American showrooms early in the new year.

No pricing on the Canadian Site yet.
My dealer told me that Canada was only allotted 9 of the Giulia Quadrifoglio so I figured the chances of getting a Stelvio Quad was slim.

I'll drive my Ti Sport for a year or so and then see about upgrading.
So it's going on sale in NA first before the UK? That's a weird way to release the Stelvio QV.
what's the USA pricing for the QV?

UK has the steering wheel on the wrong side, it makes sense to give them everything intended for the world market last.

Actually, in the UK the steering wheel is on the right side, whereas in (other) European countries and the US it is on the other side ;-)

Question is, does it have Apple/Android Car play??
who cares about apple/android car play?

it has real car play, as in Race mode.
that's all it needs for entertainment.
I have been waiting since 1978 for an Alfa like this, sold my Alfetta for a saab turbo with trailer hitch and folding rear seats - which I got rid of pretty darn quick, and pretty much always had an Alfa and a van for the next 30 years.

Well, regardless of YOUR emotions, a lot of people are waiting for apple/android car play before they buy the Stelvio. Cuz you know , the current set-up is hideous. It was advertised that the quadrifoglio will have apple car play. If it does it will probably mean it will be on the lower tier stelvio (2nd Gen) as well, and if it doesn't Alfa might be looking at the same diminishing market that the XC90 is experiencing. People love the XC90 but the bad rap on the infotainment system is killing sales.

Anyone have a price yet (USA)?
Last i heard it was in the 75k range.

Thanks,
Totally agree with you. Like it or not people are used to their tech and their phones and a lot of people are using this car as a daily driver and not just a "sports" utility vehicle and need the convenience the technology brings.

I'm coming from a car with a lot of tech and once you have it and its conveniences there is no reason to suffer without it. They have confirmed its coming and to those of us that it is important to - we will wait. :smile

Yep, same boat. I put a Pioneer CarPlay head unit into our Subaru and now my wife doesn't want a car that doesn't have it. Stelvio will be hers primarily but we don't want to have to learn a new entertainment system every time we buy a car. CarPlay resolves that for us. Plus, no desire to pay extra for a crappy navigation system. I WILL pay extra for CarPlay however.
if carplay etc is the priority, why get a quadrifoglio?
wait for it on a regular stelvio, spring for choice of interior etc, and save a heck of a lot of money.

Because its human nature! When you dish out big bucks for something that will most likely depreciate you want the best, in the sense that everything is a priority.
BMW was forced to revise its multi step and complex infotainment system, because customer feed back effected sales. The XC90 , XC60 sales have plummeted because of it.
Personally i don't have any use for 550 hp in the quad but if i did, i would expect it to be logically equipped and if not ahead of its time at least be competitive. A good and easy infotainment system only ADDS to the pleasure of driving.

In this day and age not to have a touch screen is just asinine and the nav system is ancient in today's terms. Alfa should also work on the really small and low res reverse camera while at it.

Not getting the Quad for my wife, that would be a waste. But, if the quad is released with CarPlay then it means we're closer to getting it on the regular Stelvio models. We want the car, but are just patiently waiting for the feature we want to become available.

For me I'm not waiting on the Quad, but I am waiting on the Car Play. I will try to wait for the Lusso if I can but will need to buy by early spring at the latest..

Before springing for the $75K Quad I'd like to see it on the road a year or two and possibly some minor upgrades(ie in tech). So starting my Alfa "relationship" with a TI/Lusso/Sport is a good start but I don't lease so again like the other posters said, when I sell that car to buy my Quad, the new buyer will more than likely want car play and more tech, its the way of the world now my friend.

I do question handling going from literally 9 years (two cars) with a touchscreen, its going to be hard for me not to have it. I know it will take months of me trying to touch the screen in frustration to adjust to using a knob again :smile - why I bypassed Audi again although I love that virtual dash... but I love this car so much otherwise I'm willing to try.
fine and well, three people not planning on buying a quadrifoglio - but concerned about carplay in it.

obviously it is an issue for many looking at other versions of the stelvio, and I do hope they resolve/update it so people who might want an Alfa are happy to purchase one.

but realistically, people who are waiting for the quad are not doing so because of any infotainment systems, they are shelling out the money for the performance differences - engine, suspension, and 4th driving mode.
if those items are not their priority, they are looking at the wrong vehicle.
