what I appreciate about this writer is that he has older Alfa's, so knows why they have their driving reputation, and isn't comparing with a toyaudi or something.

Absolutely. My 16 4was the only FWD car I have ever owned that did not feel like it. It actually preferred oversteer v the usual grinding understeer FWD is noted for. Wish I had the opportunity to experience an original Guilia and how it compared to an original Elan.
