I don't see the resemblance. Ironically, the X2 is smaller than the X1 and those 2 size wise is smaller than the X3, which would be the comparable to the Stelvio. The X2 looks more rectangular from the rear and the Stelvio oblong. I like the Stelvio better. ?
Frankly, I don't seem any similarity but perhaps that is just me. Both cars share all the common and current design elements of dual exhausts, small 'spoiler', metallic-looking bumper, etc., etc.
All these SUVs and crossovers look similar to me, my guess is that automotive designers are afraid of being creative, fearing public humiliation and lack of sales, such as Chris Bangle endured when he dared to change the look of the BMW sedans years ago.
The Stelvio falls right in line, IMHO. The car's only distinguishing feature is the nose. Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike the Stelvio design, I just don't think it is particularly distinctive overall.
Its not distinctive at all and the rear end of the stelvios looks just like the mazda cx 5. Just like it. Actually both cars look so much alike the only difference for me is the front end and the lines that run thru the profile. The cx 5 is nice looking car too.
I think there is a resemblance to one of the Lexus SUV's. I'm not sure which model,,,,probably the RX350. When walking through my parking lot, I often think it's a Stelvio when I see one from the rear.
