So my climate control system just stopped working. I had it in for 20K service last weekend, but wouldn't think there would be a relationship.

I turn the blower knob, and the digital slider bar shows the blower increasing, but there is no airflow. So all the lights work on the climate system when I turn knobs and press buttons, but no air output. I've tried everything I can think of - turning off auto start/stop, turning off A/C Auto, turning the temperature adjustment up and down, start/restart the car, etc.

One time yesterday I turned it on, nothing, and then a quick surge of air for about a second, and then nothing. Every other time I've tried I just don't get any blowing air at all.

I don't think it's a fuse, as the lights work, and the power door folding mirrors work (they are on the same fuse according to my search).

It's going to be 90 degrees tomorrow, and I can't get an appointment in the near term due to my travel schedule, and I have a long memorial day weekend trip planned.

Any ideas? I tried a search on the forum, and didn't see anything similar.

So I took it into the shop last week. The tech seemed to do a thorough diagnosis, based on the written report, and found 3 connections he thought were loose. He tightened everything up, noted no burn marks on any of the connectors or wires, and test drove. All good.

Then I picked the car up that evening - still not working. Sigh.

The next day they confirmed it wasn't working, and ultimately they replaced the blower motor and harness. Picked the car up that night, all good. Blower and A/C worked that night, and the next morning, and then after a 1 hr ride I pulled over for food and now it no longer works. It now hasn't worked since Friday, despite multiple starts and stops.

Back to the dealer Thursday. They are very apologetic.

The dealer is in Tyson's Corner VA. They don't have loaner cars, but will get you an Enterprise rental (has to be Dodge to be covered). I admit to being annoyed by this simple inconvenience, as the Enterprise process took almost an hour. My wife smirks when I tell her this, as she has an Audi and their Audi loaner cars and process are wonderful.

My loaner was a Dodge Charger - Black. People I work with surprisingly excited about the rental. I missed the drive of my Stelvio.

Let's see what they find this week.

Must be your local dealer with the loaners, Mine has them and they provide Alfa's. I got a brand new Guilia for my last oil change / software update.

Why is it so difficult to diagnose the issue properly? Sounds to me the techs are properly trained.

Sounds like a bad connection somewhere, or a short, creating a situation that damages components.

These are the hardest things to diagnose or repair.

When you take it back, ask them to check the connections AND test the units for function at the same time.

Call Alfa care first so they can coordinate, you want them involved. I would call and specifically ask they direct the dealer to test the continuity (specifically ask for impediance testing) of all elctrical connections related to the climate control. This is a very labor intensive process so dealers will rarely do it unless directed to.

Even a really good dealer and top tech can have issues here..could even be unrelated to the loose connections, could be an issue in a wire length which can't be seen, (wire crimped around a corner causing an internal short for instance) but the loose connections distract from it, so it isnt being caught.

Sorry this happened, hope.you can get it fixed quickly without more trips.

Ughh!!! Mine just stopped working also. The car sat in the semi heated garage for 6 days while in Miami (sunny ant 80 degrees). I come back to 1.5 feet of snow and the blower wont work in my car. I dont mode a little cold with the heated seats/steering wheel but I cant see out the effing window. Was there ever a resolution to this issue? I need to get to work Monday morning and my dealer is 1.5 hrs away.

While I was checking the fuse under the passenger foot well I hit above it were the fan is located and it turned on. I hit it with my fist a couple of times with the fan dial on high and it started blowing. It worked this morning. Yeah...

My A/C blower stopped working again yesterday. It was fine after the initial repair, and worked since last June. Same symptoms - the display shows the blower motor on, but nothing coming out of the vents. I tried multiple settings, with no success.

Taking back to the dealer this week.
