i want to change fluid/oil to differentials and also to Q4 system
in owner manual there is a mention of
AWD System FAD transfer case
and
AWD System TRANSFER CASE

what is the difference ? what is exactly FAD?

i could not find any answer on forum, any help is appreciated

At what mileage it is advised to change transfer case oil?
8 years or 80000 miles, I don't think the manual specifies the time for the diff fluid change, but using the same interval wouldn't be a bad idea.

FAD is front axle disconnect

if the car doesn't have a FAD, then the front hubs spin the front differential and thus the front driveshaft, with the FAD open, one side will just spin its half shaft, and the other will spin the shaft all the way to the carrier, but it won't spin the full diff assembly as there's no rotation from the disconnected side.
