High Beam Assist

I am the very proud owner of a Misano Blue Milano Edizione 210HP diesel Stelvio. For those unfamiliar this is a launch edition in the UK and decorated like a Christmas tree with options. I am led to believe that it has high beam assist on it but I cannot seem to get the expected light on the dash by following the instructions in the manual.

There is no option in the configurator to add anything approaching high beam assist so it is either on there and not working or will never be available to me. I have only had it a week and most of that I have been out of the country so I am still discovering things.

Any assistance gratefully received

I don't think we have that on the Milano Edizione, just the dusk sensor for automatic headlights. One of the other packs in the brochure has auto high beam, but it's not available for the Milano.
Thanks for confirming my thoughts. I am not clear why this feature would be excluded from such a well specified model. I miss it from my BMW X3 but the headlights on the Stelvio are good.

Any ideas why it was not available?

I can't speak to the UK version, however, on the US Stelvio, there is a setting through the infotainment center to turn automatic high beams on/off. However, despite the nomenclature, it does not mean that high beams will automatically turn on when conditions warrant. What it does mean is that if you turn on the high beams (by pushing the turn signal lever toward the dash), the high beams will automatically turn down/off as needed.

In short, you have to turn on the high beams when you want to use them, and THEN they will turn down/off with approaching traffic, etc.

Frustratingly, High Beam Assist is ONLY available in the UK as part of the Driver Assistance Pack PLUS. Worse, the Driver Assistance Pack PLus is ONLY available on the Super trim level, so no 280bhp engine, and various other omissions inc the nicest wheels. Ditto for Blind Spot Monitoring. Oh, and you can't get electric seats on the Super.

But you can get all these various options readily in various European countries.

Is the options combinations based on sensible decisions by Alfa UK? NO, it is totally maddeningly BONKERS... Issues like this keep stopping me hitting the GO button, so I am just starting to think about an iPace instead.

I am going to test this, I haven't yet been able to achieve any function from that setting that I can discern a result out of... If you're wrong there are going to be lots of blinded drivers around here the next time I'm out driving non city roads at night...
Thanks for this - I have just had my one week later follow up call from the dealer. I was in a rubbish signal area so I have responded with an email. I followed up on your information and saw that you are absolutely spot on. My wife and I investigated this feature as I had it on my BMW X3 and it was frequently used. We were shown it as part of the settings on the second vehicle that I test drove which must therefore have been a Super with that Pack. I have made the dealer aware that this was misleading and that this forum exists and is a great source of info.
My HBA is working in the states. I have a 2018 Stelvio Ti Sport. The system is enabled in the I and E System. I activated the system until the white auto symbol is illuminated on the instrument panel. Now in low light areas the high beams illuminate automatically until a bright light source is detected. The high beams will drop to the normal position until the light source is no longer detected and will go back to bright without you having to activate them. I JUST TRIED IT and it works. I have been having a problem with this feature as well, but it does work.
Thanks @SpeedGear the issue is the way that Alfa have built the specifications list in the UK. HBA is included in the Driver Assistance Package Plus which is a £700 option which is only available on the Super model.

In the UK we get the following models:
Stelvio
Super
Speciale
Milano Edizione

The DAPP is the only package that is limited to a single model either as an option or built in. It includes
HBA
Front/rear parking sensors
Outside rear view mirrors - electrochromic autodimming
Inside rear view mirrors - electrochromic autodimming
Rear view camera with dynamic gridlines
Blindspot detection indication in Mirror with Rear Cross path detection

The Milano Edizione, which is hung with almost every option available, includes all of those bar the HBA and the blindspot detection. You cannot even add them as separate cost options!

my only raccomandation is to sign inside the Alfa Romeo "MyAlfa" and place the vin number during the registration.
after that you can go to the accessories section and check if the car is equipped with.
another way, go to the service and ask fo accessory list via VIN, is a kind of supermarket inventory of the car.

the last and fast way, open a chat or twitter and ask directly the standard car config.
