My infotainment screen was blank when I turned the car on. Not even the initial logo or warning came on. The rear camera still works and the Bluetooth works, the screen is just blank. I can see any of the menu features or navigation. I read trying to change the settings to have the radio auto on, and now it works as it should. But if I turn the auto-on radio off, I can use the infotainment screen when the car comes on. I brought this up to the service center, and they said that is a quirk and there is nothing they can do. I called Alfa Care and was told that this happens in some cars but Alfa has decided this is “within design”. How is this part of the design??? It doesn’t sound like this is in every car. I can’t imagine they purposely design some cars to have this flaw.

Hello Fishiv,

That doesn't sound normal. Are you thinking about getting this inspected by the dealer? Send us a direct message with your VIN if so as we'd be glad to get this over to a Case Specialist for further handling.

Dealer visit required but there seems to be some software conflicts that are rogue in nature. Supposed to be a software update in February. I think it is on the 2019's and oince that run is going well, they should backtrack to us 2018 folks. You need to know your build date and whether or not your dealer did all the available upgrades.

And it is not just because you have turned of the system (long press on the volume knob to turn it on again)...

I just had this happen to me last night, when I unplugged my phone from the Carplay port. Screen went completely blank, no volume, and didn't come back on after shutting off and restarting the car. Then, I pushed down on the radio volume knob in the center console and it popped back on again.

So, as Jakob mentioned in an earlier post, you should try doing that before heading back to the dealership.
