Ok. Now I’m getting reboots and driver side speaker popping at random (but always when I have something playing back from my phone over ACP) at 17k miles. I keep getting the “your software is the latest version” from my dealer when I know that’s not the case.

How do I force this issue and get the update (which also has some nice to have items like the parking sensors not screaming at me in park)? Because while the infotainment is a weak link in the car this isn’t acceptable when I’m using the radio to navigate from Waze.

@Knightofargh. The attached Repair Bulletin was published in our Forum. I saved it and attached it here. If your build date falls in the range specified in the bulletin, the dealer must take action. The bulletin states random radio reboots. As an aside, in our forum a PDF file has a limit of 19.5KB (tiny!) for uploading but the attached PNG loaded OK (447KB) vs the PDF size (356KB).

Thanks! I’ve got every one of those symptoms and I’m in that build range.

Thanks Darlene. I’ll keep it in mind when I go in for my 20k, V84 recall and with the TSB above in hand. I’m going to give my dealer one more chance to correctly apply the TSB.

Update: waiting on a new radio. Because software updates apparently need a new one.

Bonus: map update for the nav I don’t use.

Update: replaced radio module and software update appears to have resolved. Giving it a week or two before I consider it fixed.

Notably the backup camera resolution is much better on the new module and the blind spot monitoring has audible now. Leading me to believe there was a software or hardware problem with the first generation ACP/AA units. Rotary dial is also much more responsive.

You are very lucky. Alfa Romeo cares person I had on my infotainment issue did nothing and no indication Alfa engineers are doing anything to help. So infotainment has no favorites menu in phone mode and no updates and random issues with Bluetooth media from iPhone.

Which version do you have? I was on the 56.x first gen ACP. There was a TSB for my issue.

I have an 18 Ti sport before car play but my sense is Alfa romeo cares less about the older units. I believe they are focusing on the newer units and software or firmware is not handling our issues

Totally likely. The specific issue for the TSB is reboots and the phone on BT failing to disconnect when exiting the car. If your phone does this the TSB cited up thread may apply to get you some traction on this.

Unfortunately lack of backward support on infotainment is industry wide. My last Kia had problems and zero software updates in six years. Whatever version it shipped with was what you got.
