I just purchased a new 2019 Stelvio, and have started to notice that under moderate acceleration a loud air blowing noise can be heard from the center air vents. The A/C does not cut off, but the normal sound of it from just the center air vent does as this air blowing takes over. It only occurs while accelerating. Could this be a specific issue on just my Stelvio or is this normal? I've owned two BMW turbo-charged engines and none have ever had any noise/air come thru the vents.

I assume your ac is off at the time? Is the recirculate on? I have had cars that allowed in fresh air unless you turned off the recirculating feature. Otherwise I am curious myself.

I've tested with the A/C off and the sound still happens. Also tested with the recirculate on and off, no difference. I've also closed the vents and you can still hear the sound when accelerating. Seems like I will have to take it to the dealer....

I have this ongoing issue. Was temporarily fixed but has just come back
Thought it might be similar to your issue

When putting foot on accelerator there seems what sounds like a loud rumbling screechy sound coming from what I thought was beneath the front of the car but now I believe it might be coming through the front central speaker.
It’s particularly bad in Dynamic

Is that the fake exhaust sound coming through the speaker? I think I hear a bit of that on mine during hard acceleration. It sounds as if there's another car drag racing neck and neck against mine in the next lane when in reality there's no other car around.

That's what i originally thought but the dealership thought loose wires in speaker. Sometimes just getting in the car and the movement that involves causes the sound from the speaker which may be a loose connection somewhere.

My sound is definitely not a rumbling screechy sound, and it is very evidently coming from the center AIR vents not the central speaker. It's very obviously air being blown somewhere under moderate acceleration, and the sound of it comes thru only the center air vents. You don't hear it from the other vents.

Sounds like an intake that is open or if under car, a loose clamp on the exhaust.

Just an update.
Screeching sound finally sorted. It was a loose microphone in the engine bay. Was disconnected for 10 days while new one was ordered and the difference in engine sound within the car is significantly different when its off.

I just got a 2019 Stelvio and have not heard anything like this. I would bring it back to the dealer an have them take a look at it.

so is this engine sound some kind of an optional feature of the higher-end trims? certainly can't hear the engine on my base - actually one thing I enjoy:)
