Leasing a 2018 Stelvio Ti Sport, picked up 3/21/18, less than 1000 miles on the clock, received persistent message in info center, max oil level exceeded. After driving with no message, for ~950 miles. Have not topped off oil. No signs of coolant infiltration or fuel infiltration in oil. Dealer says sensor is faulty. Waiting on part to arrive for 4 days. Manual indicates there is a separate warning message for faulty oil sensor. So I'm skeptical about solution. They have not encountered this with another customer. Hoping to pick up tomorrow. Guilia AWD loaner is nice. But want our vehicle back. Anybody else experience this? (Also getting the two recalls repaired).

it's been mentioned on the giulia forum, my memory says it was software and not sensor.

It can't be a software issue. The code doesn't work normally and then one day change itself. Its the same code that was in the software for the first 950 miles. It doesn't just re-write itself and it doesn't wear down !!!

I do believe they changed the display - but feel free to research on the giulia forum.
lots of 2 liter specific stuff I don't pay much attention to, like how and what to use to physically check the oil level, because to some extent this has been confusing and exasperating people.

Picked up Stelvio today from dealer. Apparently the oil sensor was faulty. Two oil flushes/refills to confirm. Warning light is off. Oil level is perfect. Appears to be resolved.

Umm, what? Have you not heard of corrupted software? Of course software can work and then stop working properly.

The same software is downloaded for every Stelvio. If there are bugs in the software or corrupted files, it will show the same thing on EVERY Stelvio with that specific batch of software. Seems like this problem is not widespread.
