MES 280 2L Stelvio "Turbo vacuum valve"

Does the 2L Stelvio have a "Turbo vacuum valve" ? Is it more commonly known as the diverter valve..

I have been using MES to check a few things as I get a strange noise at 3000rpm for a couple of seconds as the revs rise on hard throttle from gears 4 through 7.. sounds like someone putting an object into a rotating fan briefly..

Anyway went to see if there were any errors (none found) so looked at the turbo vacuum valve .. it stays closed when you rev the engine up in neutral.. if you use the "actuators tab" for this item I get an error 13 from MES and no ticking.. Checked the wastegate solenoid valve and you can hear it ticking so I know that's working..

Any feedback appreciated.

Cheers

I run into the same issue with the German car tools too....the translation gets funky

If it's reading out open or closed they're referring to the diverter valve.

If it's reading in percentage it's the electronic wastegate.

Thank for the detailed explanation and diagrams.. I think I'm definitely talking about the diverter valve then.. Would you expect to see this change to an open state whilst hard revving the engine in neutral or does the engine need to be under load? The fact MES won't make it click lends me to think it's faulty. Cheers

The turbo won't build boost when not under load. You can try the "launch control" brake torqueing it and it will build boost.

The nice thing about the electronic bpv control is you'll get a CEL and hard code soon enough if it goes bad.
Thanks for you help explaining everything.. really helps.. no CEL yet so I might be good with the diverter.. Cheers
