MES scan errors found

412 Views 21 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  AlfaRomeoCares
I have scanned my car recently, and I have found some errors, which would not clear(SGW bypass installed).
I have an issue with locking the car, it takes quite a long time to be able to lock my car. Sometimes I can lock it with the door button, but sometime that doesn't work either, it is erratic.
Dealer replaced the batteries in both of my remotes, which did not help.
Eventually I will go back to the dealer, but until then I was wondering if it is something that I can take care of.
My ODB connectors falls in, as I try to plug the cable into it. Nothing is broken. I'm guessing the plastic is too thin at the edges of the rectangular cut out, and that is why.
Here are my codes:
- Body/RFHUB (Radio Frequency Hub Module)
B1025-13
- Body/BCM (Body Computer Module)
U1712-2f - Brake system (NFR) - Signal/message erratic
U1711-2f - Brake system (NFR) - Signal/message erratic
Any help would be appreciated.

Do you guys have any errors in your cars when you scan it?

ODB connectors are held in place with two plastic tabs on the port itself, on both sides of the connector. Either push it in (you can reach it by releasing the driver's under panels) or pull it in by grabbing the connector itself, until you hear them click. it's possible that your odb connector is not making a solid connection.

As for scanning the car, I have never scanned the car for errors since I learned that almost any cars I scan, it will come up with some errors which is not relevant to what's wrong with the car. most of those errors are some options not installed on my car to some changes I have made to my car. That brake system error looks scary so check it out.

Here are the listings of all the codes for alfa romeo Alfa Romeo Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Definition, Causes and Diagnosis
I have tried even wedging some plastic pieces in the tabs, did not help. Not the connector tabs are at fault, it is the knew cover cutout is to thin to be able to holt the connector.
I may have to fabricate a new trim piece around the connector and bolt it there, or glue it there, to give some thickness.
Thanks for that code chart, I had saved it myself a while ago, but I have forgot about it. The code description does not help much though. It seems like the antenna could be disconnected, but where it is the RF Hub located, or the antenna for it?

try our brother site :) Where is the RFHm located?
Thanks for that. I may have an open ground issue for one of the antennas in the trunk area? I'm guessing that the #13 would indicate the issue. I will investigate that shortly.
Since the accident(finally I have got my car back from the body shop), the locking button at the rear door does not lock the car. It closes the door, lights flash, but does not lock the car.
They missed the rear plastic covering of the door, it had some broken tabs, so they will replace it, but they have no idea what could be wrong with this issue.
Since the rear door was damaged, I'm guessing that a wire, or module could be broken/damaged. They suspect software issue, I don't believe that.
Any ideas on what could be wrong?
there are no modules in doors.
my guess is during accident rear door was damaged as only rear doors have keyless aerials. check door wiring for damage and aerial itself.

Thanks for that, but which aerial you are talking about, not the roof one, right?
The remote issue was there before the accident.
The issue with the accident is, that the rear door does not lock the car.
I would try to find where the wiring that runs from the relay in the trunk for the brake system to the MKC1 module intersects the RFHUB module wiring for the locking system.

The "U1712-2f - Brake system (NFR) - Signal/message erratic" code can mean that wiring has an issue.

Add-in the door locking issues and the repaired damage to the rear hatch(?)

Look for a module/wiring loom in that area where this stuff all intersects and I bet your problem is there.

Without looking at anything, I would put $50 on there being something wrong with something in the electrical wiring in the passenger-side rear or down by the battery/relay box. something got pinched in the damage or repair process and now its all messed up.

From my understanding those are all communication codes. That could mean broken wires..since the problems cover different systems.. look for where the wiring intersects at the rear (starting where the damage/repair was). Wish I could help more.

Right now I "fix" the OBD connector. What do you think that I have found there? The same device that somebody mentioned a few days ago. Somebody installed an adapter and the OBD connector that was on the j=knew panel, it wasn't the original. That is why it wasn't holding properly in the panel. Now I have removed that device and the original connector is super tight now.
Now I'm fighting with the LED that popped out. The small LED trim is super hard to align it back with the LED, so I just double side taped it there.

i used duct tape on the back of the LED light to hold it in place while I replaced the panel. So the wiring side has a small piece of duct tape stuck to the inside of the panel. those clips are pain and the LED slides out whenever I tried to position the panel. Maybe there is another trick but I broke one of the LED clips when removing. Force was with me, I guess...
It broke for me as well. But it is almost impossible to reach in there, align the Led properly and from untherneath to manage to aling the small trim piece, to match up with the Leds slots. It is way easier to stick some double sided tape strips ro the Led and stick it to the surface.

this is your problem:

I just don't know which one of the aerials is "Antenna 5", maybe someone will point into right direction.
you can try disconnecting for example rear doors wiring on B-pillar and see what errors you get. as said 2 antennas are in rear doors, then another one is behind rear seats under foam (will have to remove whole foam insert), then other one is behind rear bumper but I doubt you can access it without removing bumper. there are couple more antennas but those should make no start if faulty I think.

there was wireless.pdf shared by someone with location of passive antennas.

Alfa Romeo Cares
Thank you AlfaRomeoCare, but I don't understand why they can't take care the first time, when I was there? I have explained them that I can remote start the car from inside the house, so a weak battery is not the solution. They have replaced the battery in the remote, and they sent me away. I had to take a day off from work for this? Do I have to do tis again, and I don't feel like they are able to fix my issue, so I have to take care of it myself.
I'de be looking at the rear bumper location first then looking at the one under the rear seat. Again, find where the wiring for the brake system crosses the door lock wiring near the antenna.
I hope no member living near Studio City loaned their car out to a friend with an ankle bracelet....
These antennas look like a rectangular fairly big box? I see one under the foam, which I have cut out a while ago.
