Driving in Baltimore today our Navi hiccupped and got confused- the verbal instructions didn't match the screen. I tried resetting it several times + finally gave up, using Maps in my BlackBerry to get us there. When we got back in and resumed, everything seemed OK again.

I had one other goof up in Fairfax VA a few weeks ago and wrote it off as user error.

Does anybody know if the update addresses any bugs in the Navigation system?

Stella was birthed 7/2017 if it makes a difference.

I might have missed an earlier post on this forum, but has their been any new US navigation software updates on for the Stelvio>?

Come to think of it, where the heck is AlfaRomeoCares, anyways? They made a big splash on this forum with their intro....then vanished.

I don't believe there's a map update for the US yet, not that I'm personally worried. I've never used the NAV in my Stelvio. opened the maps a few times just to look where I was so I didn't need to do it on my phone, but I've never tried to enter an address in it and don't expect I ever will.

FWIW, I've had GPS issues and cell phone issues on that same stretch of road in the past using both google maps and waze...

My Stelvio also has a date of 7/2017 with a map of: 971.7832. I have tried to see if there is an update, but can not get an answer that I feel that I am be told accurate info. Hopefully someone with a build date this year can have a look when they gets theirs.

Oh so there is a newer map version on December built stelvios vs 7/17? - does that mean I can ask dealer to upgrade mine?? Or is there any way I can do it myself...
I cannot answer that question - I assume yes. I was just posting my map version because I want to help and I think I have a recent build date in comparison to other forum members (for now)...

@7200 miles now. I am sure when I bring it in for service they'll address it + want to add the roof bars and hitch if possible at that time. Thanks guys (and gals) - big question is whether you had experienced the same issues. I do believe it is software at this point.

update nav yourself?

I don't think one can update the navigation yourself.

See photos.
The production date on my Stelvio is 6/2017.
Current Map shows 971.7832

When I tried to update the nav thru the Infotainment system it requested a USB insertion.
Huh?
I think the dealer has to do it assuming they have the USB handy.

Right, I also tried and saw same msg- but I do know (ppl on this forum) have done it themselves - all is needed is a file and formatted USB drive (same with software update which I wouldn’t risk doing myself specialy that it’s not approved for US market yet- apperently ) was just hoping that Navi is a separate folder on Stelvio’s hardrive and since US version is already available on recent build models won’t be too risky...or even easy and save a drive to a dealer ?

All - I recently posted http://www.stelvioforum.com/forum/9...forum/5514-european-map-update-available.html where I described where to find the European map updates which is via a Mopar site. I suspect you need to find the US version of the same site.

The European map is 9GB and you need a small license file as well. Once you have downloaded these onto a USB stick (I recommend USB3 for the speed) you can insert that into the USB port in the car and update it yourself. You need to have the car running and stationary to ensure that the system remains powered throughout the approximately half hour update process.

I found the Mopar site via the Owners section of the UK Alfa Romeo site. I had a quick look but could not find that for the US.

Thank you!- that’s exactly what I was talking about - so it is possible. I went back and reread your linked post and seems that update took longer then half hr for some ppl (they must have used a slower USB) - I decided to wait and get it done through the dealer in the next future - as it’s not all that quick afterall considering the whole process even if I found the US version.

Yes. US is currently not listed as an option to register, so I registered under UK and was able to get into the portal. However, I was not able to find an update, since it asks for a VIN to find specific updates and when I plugged mine in, it didn't find any at all. FYI, I'm not on the most recent map update as those who's cars were build Dec 2017 and on.

Hi Scalewoodman,
We do regret to hear of the navigation concerns you are experiencing, and understand how this could be frustrating. We would be more than happy to offer our assistance during your next dealer visit, if needed. Please feel free to send us a private message.

Thank you, Julie- we are totally satisfied and thinking an update will solve the problem. I have a lot of confidence in our dealer (Main Line Jeff D'Ambrosio) and @7600K miles will be heading for an oil change soon enough.

Obviously, AlfaRomeoDoesntCare!

I wasn't getting that at all... I don't think there's much the 'guys' can do online but the dealer can update the Navi software next month.
