the marelli ecu can be write via odb2, no problem.
for my point of view the first thing to clarify is what's about new ecu firmware found, like my stelvio, with the last version ?
the differences are big.
for me is NO

one of the big problem with marelli is reading the ecu data and the engine map.
right now isn't possibile via odb2, only directly via the ecu.
when you have the firmware data you need to do a comparison with the old firmware data and bit position that every time change.
make a sync and adapt the correct map to the new firmware.
try to ask to the forum suppliers if they have a garage in australia for doing well this not so simple task

Eurocompulsion does dyno testing, which they post on you tube.
if you feel the need to buy a chip, at least with them you can see they actually ran the vehicle on a dyno before and after.
