I have an appointment this Friday to take my car in for service for a few of issues. Just curios if anyone else has experienced them?

1. My power windows seem to have a mind of their own. Sometimes when I go to roll them up, they go up about an inch and then start rolling down. The only way to get them to go all the way up is pull the switch for 1 second and release. If I repeat this enough they move up an inch at a time and eventually I'll get them all the way up. It seems to happen randomly but I have been able to recreate it pretty regularly if I park the car, shut it off, and then try to roll them up while the accessory power is still on before I open the door.

2. When I roll down my driver window it sounds like someone is dragging a nail against a chalk board. It's very loud and makes me cringe every time.

3. While playing music through the USB port I get a lot of crackling sound from the front speakers.

4. My clock keeps switching between 24hr and 12hr on it's own.

It seems like most of these might have to do with an electrical issue. Hopefully it's an easy fix.

I've had the clock issue. Haven't experienced the crackling sound but it's been discussed at length on this forum and seems to have been corrected by a software update that some have done using a Giulia update downloaded from the internet, so proceed at your own risk.

I had the same issue with the clock in a loaner and mine. It took 3 or 4 tries before it took. It's been good for a couple weeks now.

I get crackling through the speakers when using my iphone via the cable. Using Bluetooth works well but it's not able to match the sample rate of direct line. I'm using an aftermarket cable and wonder if it happens with a higher quality apple branded cable too.

I didn't have that exact problem with the windows. My passenger window refused to go all the way up with the auto up function, but that only happened once.

I also am experiencing a couple of these.

I am getting the crackling sound when playing audio from my iPhone X via the USB cable.

I also have have noticed the clock setting changing - reverting back to 24hr format. I was able to identify this seems to happen subsequent to accessing the Car Settings menu in the center display; it stays at 12hr format so long as I don't go back to the Settings menu. Would seem to be a coding issue, and assume Alfa will correct it in a future software update.

Dropped my car off this morning. The service person told me Alfa Romeo won't let the technicians work on the vehicles until they get approval. Meaning they have to email Alfa Romeo with the issues and then Alfa Romeo will respond with what to do. So I was told I'll be lucky to hear anything tomorrow but more than likely I won't hear anything until Tuesday. So basically I'm without my brand new car. At least they gave me a rental car I guess...

That's what the service advisor told me. I think it's crazy but what can I do? It's possible they are giving me the runaround but I'm not sure why they would unless they are short on technicians or something and can't get to the car in a timely manner. I messaged @AlfaRomeoCares but doubt that will help speed things up.

I've been leaning toward a Stelvio for my next car here in the near future, but it is stories like this that make me nervous as all get-out about getting into a marque that is just recently back in the US and has a rather limited dealer network.

Keep us posted as to how things work out -- and how long it takes.

Missti - the number of complaints is actually small- people go online to share negative issues- it is the nature of social media and also human nature to crave negative news- heck rubberneck tragedies. How many- statistically - people have been partially sucked out of airplanes but it's all we've been hearing about for weeks now.

It is easy to personalize the negative issues as we are all ego-based creations operating from fear and emotion but in a reasonable perspective the reality is not the perception.

That said, the emotional gratification from a Camry has a lot to do with what buyers expect and aversion to risk which contradicts in many ways the sensuality of a more exciting option- differentiation. That.

Social media generally is a cesspool of negativity and obnoxious anonymous alter egos and very little objectivity.

That said we all are rooting for sweetness to have a positive experience and fully resume passionate enjoyment of his/her Stelvio.

I will say that most initial issues occur in the first 1000 miles and it is not uncommon for an unknown issue to present itself. We had one with ours and it was resolved immediately and thoroughly. Zero issues since.

This is what we all hope to assume for our compatriot sweetness too.

I understand issues arise, even on brand new cars. I'm not upset about that at all and fully understand, especially with a new model of vehicle. As of right now my disappointment is with the slow service turn around for something that should be pretty simple. On top of that, AlfaRomeoCares posted earlier in the thread offering additional assistance. I messaged them twice and have yet to hear back. Why offer assistance if they aren't going to follow through? It's an empty offer and shows this issue starts above the dealerships.

Well two full days have gone by and I haven't heard anything from the dealer. I tried text messaging (their preferred method of communication) them, I called and left a voicemail with my service advisor, and also called a left a message at the front desk and never received any communication back from them. Very very disappointing. All I wanted was a brief update to make sure things were moving along.

I then called Alfa Romeo Premium Care and opened up a case. They told me there is no policy for a dealer to first get approval to do warranty work on a vehicle and they don't understand why I was told that. They also don't understand why my vehicle is still at the dealer for something that isn't safety related. So basically the dealer made all this up. I can only assume why the dealer did this, maybe because I didn't buy from that dealer so they are putting other cars as priority? Or they are backed up? All I know is in 20yrs of owning vehicles (Subaru, Acura, Lexus) I've never experienced this from a dealer's service center before. Alfa Romeo Premium Care is supposed to contact the dealer for me on Monday and give me an update so we'll see what happens if anything.

Gents...based on previous history with the marque I will tell you that it is far better that they are providing the techs with proper guidance rather than allowing them to fly by the seat of their pants....If they are providing you a loaner (which they must) give them the time to do it right....My Giulia Quadrifoglio recently had a wiring harness issue....I brought it to the most qualified local dealer and within 2 weeks, the car was better than new...My rental was paid for by FCA...all good !!

Remember that there is always a bias on a Forum in that those with problems are more likely to reach out to a Forum seeking guidance and / or solutions to their problems.....those without a problem (THE FAR GREATER MAJORITY) are out there in the wild, enjoying their rides.....D
