Looking to solve a mystery with the front seat belts. The driver side belt has the adjustment bar so you can set where the buckle stops when the belt is stowed as shown in the first photo. The passenger side belt has a different version of this with a small loop attached, as shown in the second photo; does anyone know what this is for? I don’t see any reference to it in the owners manual.

It’s a cushion to keep the buckle from banging against the B-pillar when you don’t have a front passenger buckled in. Could be an annoying source of noise.

Can add a plastic button on the driver side to get the effect you want. It’s annoying to keep chasing the buckle on the left side.
