Shocking discovery

Hi

Whenever I exit a parking garage and feed the ticket into the machine at the boom, I get a nasty electric shock...

I thought at first it was just some static but it is not coming from me, it is definitely the car. I have to make sure my arm is not touching the door when I put the ticket in. If I touch the door and the ticket machine, it is as if I am grounding a short and get an unpleasant shock.

I love my Stelvio, why is she doing this to me?

It might be a fault with the ticket machine. Is this just one parking garage, or does it happen with several different ones?

What is the ambient humidity level where you are?
Does it happen when you push the button to get the ticket on the way in?
I wonder if it's b/c the door panels are aluminum, and Al is a good conductor.
Unless it happens with other machines .....

That machine probably isn't installed properly. Ground problems.

It happened on multiple days with various machines.

Nothing crazy.

It happens when my arm touches the door (aluminium strip / door metal) and my finger touches the machine...
Gotta be a static electricity discharge.... Or some type of discharge from the machines.

Assuming it doesn't happen anywhere else. If it does..... Thats a strange one.... 🤷
