I'm guessing either he's an Alfa owner who makes really bad choices in life, or this guy jumped into someone's car when they stopped at a store and left the car running, while they ran into a store for that quick thing.

or they just left their fob in the cup holder? I know I have done that when I didn't have it on the lanyard.

Most likely hopped in the car and drove off since the owner left the car running with the dog inside.
