We had our Stelvio 3 weeks when a rock hit the windshield.
To make a long story short, we have been waiting 2 months for our windshield!
Yes. They have to be ordered by the dealer. We have been given so much B.S. and runaround by our dealer, telling us they ordered ours twice and both times they don't know where it is (????) En route from and why it never gets to its final destination- MY FREAKIN' CAR!
We are told this is an Alfa issue. Dealt with the rep. He doesn't know. Dealer doesn't know. Nobody knows anything about anything yet they continue to sell their vehicles and I can't drive mine..
Who do we go to now?
Some executive on the board of Alfa in Turin, Italy?
Before they started promoting these vehicles, Alfa should have the parts readily available, regardless of the cost.

I had mine crack and the dealer got one in the 10 days they indicated.

just trying to set it up for me to drop it off

Going to also have the EXO Shield film installed this time.

The glass is not cheap!!!!!! In Canada dollars $2250 for the glass and $300 to install.

Don't want to re peat that one every year.

Good luck! I’ve only had my 2019 Stelvio for 1500 and major leaks required a new tranny and I just got it back and now have a major braking failure. I love/hate this car! I’ve never experienced anything like this in my life. I should’ve bought the Range Rover.

Sir, odd Banff gets the windshield in 10 days but you can't. Guess we need to move to Canada. I would suggest you consider filing a formal complaint on the FCA Community Customer Care Website at https://fcacommunity.force.com/AlfaRomeo/s/. When you get on the website click the "Contact Us" box near the bottom of the web page which brings you to the next window where you can send them an email. I had a software update issue they helped work out with me in less than 24 hrs. Best of luck to you.

Same! We wanted to love this car. So excited. We are quickly regretting our decision.

I'm going on week 5 of a badly broken windshield and have called all the dealers in the Chicago area. All give the same reply -- the 3rd party they contract with for windshields are back-ordered. It may arrive the end of next week. Not that I'm overly fastidious about the dirt on my car, but you can barely see the paint color at this point. The window is so damaged I'm not comfortable going to the car wash because they all use high pressure washers and I don't want it coming through the cracks.

@Jay-Ten have you contacted Alfa care?

The dealer uses a 3rd party company for installation, fine. They don't have to use them to get the windshield. Alfa may not be back-ordered.....and even if they are can probably get it to you sooner.
I didn't since all the dealers gave me the same answer, that they source the glass and install through the 3rd party. It never occurred to me to ask them to source it directly. @ttaidapos also recommended that I contact Alfa care but I usually ignore him - but with 2 of you, I guess I'll stop being lazy. :)

We're truly sorry to hear about this, Deek1015. If you'd like to send us a private message, we would be happy to have a case escalated in your behalf so a Case Specialist can work with your dealer to help address this.

BEYOND DISGUSTED with alfa and how they treat their customers in regard to fixing a windshield! every other company can do it in days, so it shouldn’t be that hard for you! literally about to sell my car on craigslist or maybe give it to the sal val because i don’t want to put up with the bs anymore

Strange - I chipped my windscreen about a year ago; it was replaced the following day.

Is the delay you’re experiencing due to some special/not fit policy in the US by Alfa?

I've had my Stelvio for a little over a year. 6300 miles. My windshield just cracked again. This is the 3rd windshield! I have never had this happen and do not believe it is just bad luck. Not going particularly fast. Not behind a truck. In 2 of the instances, no loud noise of rock hitting the windshield. But, when you look at it there is a "tiny" chip with the crack. Is there a quality issue with the glass? Is the angle of windshield different? What is going on?

I live in Scottsdale,AZ (Phoenix). Took a rock to the drivers side of the windshield. Called North Valley Auto Glass (+1 (623) 451-0096) at 200PM and had new windshield in by 1100AM the next morning. Might call them to see if they have any suggestions. Definitely do not rely on the dealer.

I had the truck thrown rock chip on the windshield a few months ago. Chicago area. Went through my insurer for comprehensive coverage. Long story short, the insurer sent me to Safelite, a chain windshield company, that would not replace the windshield. Insurer's (Allstate) processor (which happened to be a Safelite division) gave me a claim number and told me to go to the dealer. I went to the dealer, Naperville, Illinois Alfa Romeo. I ordered the replacement (the infrared) from parts and the replacement was in stock within 7 days. The dealer service department does not install windshields and they brought in a 3rd party specialist. Cost of the third party, under $200. Cost of the Alfa Romeo windshield, about $1200. Replacement well done. All covered under my insurer comprehensive full coverage. The dealer parts guy told me he had gotten orders for the windshield from as far away as Minnesota. This may be a supply chain problem and I may have just hit the parts department at the right time. I was done within 2 weeks, another 2 weeks to get reimbursement check from insurer.

Mine has now been replaced!!! Done at dealer with OEM part. I was not at all able to find a aftermarket one at all where I live.
$2200 part and $250 install.

I opted now for the $995 EXO Shield film to protect it. It has a 24 month warranty for one full replacement if it gets chipped and cracks.

I rather not be trying to claim this every year on my insurance policy and in the area I live you pretty much need a new windshield every year from the rocks they put on the roads in the winter.

Dealer got the part in the 10 days they told me when it was ordered.

Even with Alfa Care assistance, my windshield won't be available until the week of July 8. **** near 2 months for a piece of glass.

That EXO shield film is intriguing. Sadly closest installer to me is over 250 miles away. I'll assume I'd get a rock chip on the way there. Not sure if it's the glass quality or the angle but mine looks like it belongs on a 10+ year old car.
