Was taking some extra curvy backroads home this evening from a client meeting and finally noticed the headlights, When moving above some speed (I can't replicate this in the garage so I assume it needs speed), the headlights do in fact steer to follow the road. The effect is barely perceptible under low beams, but not too difficult to spot with the high beams on. Furthermore, they steer pretty far into a tight curve too, enough that once I noticed it I became more confident taking the turns knowing that I was going to be able to see around the bend much better than you would expect. This is far from the first time I've been out driving at night, but it is the first time I've done a spirited drive through the backroads at night.
Yes there was a thread recently that someone linked to a video, I don't remember which thread it was, but that's exactly what I saw, though it's easier to see the effect in the video than IRL, because when you're driving your eyes and the lights are pretty synced in movement.
I think that's the adaptive front lighting rotating with the vehicle. Not sure but they may use sensors to determine when a car is turning, a neat little feature.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could
be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
