Hi, this is my first post having bought my Quadrifoglio 2 days ago. I am not happy driving about without a spare, I have had lots of information from here about the boot bin and space saver wheel with the verdestein tyre that people have in the standard Stelvio and I’m about to buy the bin but sellers of the spare tell me they are unsure if it will fit the quad. Has anyone tried? Do you just need spacers to clear the calliper? If so what size?

spare part No is: 6ME20MX5AA

I am in the UK, my rims are

Front: 156132429 9.0J X 20" ET29
Rear: 156132431 10J X 20" ET34

Thanks in advance
Jez (a very happy Quad owner!)

I'm not sure anyone has checked, but you could always try and find someone with the spare from the Stelvio to check it out. It would likely need spacers to clear the bigger brakes, but I'd be more worried about the actual diameter of the Quad discs.

Here's a pic of the spare on my 2.0 Stelvio. It's already pretty tight, and I'm assuming the discs on the Quad are bigger...

Awesome reply and photo, thanks. I didn’t even consider disc size which is another good point, Mine are:

Front: 360 x 32 mm
Rear: 350 x 28 mm

I am going to have to find a Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 based Stelvio owner who also has a spare, could be a needle in a haystack. Failing that I may have the pain of going to a main dealer.

Well it took me a minute to find a metric measuring tape 😅, but it looks like the max width of the inside edge of the spare wheel is just under 400mm, so you might be good! With some spacers you might be able to clear the bigger calipers, too. I'd still want to do a test fit before buying anything, however.

Don't forget: the spare gets mounted on a special part under the floor in the hatchback (the spare kinda fits over/around the battery), it won't fit with the regular compartment there. If you wanted to go through the dealer, I know there are people that have ordered the whole kit (new under floor part and tire together). Also you'll need a little compressor to inflate it (not sure if that's part of the kit or not).

I really appreciate that, thank you.

And yes, I found all the info and part numbers in this thread - great forum 👍🏻

One more question, on the back of the wheel does it say “Maserati” and give a number 670010518? Someone here is selling one on eBay (here) stating it’s an AR one but the photos show this

This is sold from Mopar officially and it is the standard equipment for non QV Stelvio. So obviously it will fit the QV. Remember to have the whole complect with the jack and the foam form on the bottom.

Yes I found that easily on the internet too but 3 issues - 1/ it is outrageously expensive for what it is, you also don’t need all the extras as they can be bout separately much cheaper so only the bin and wheel are essential 2/ shipping to the UK is also very expensive 3/ it still doesn’t answer my question as it is not obvious at all that it would fit.
Thanks for replying though

I don't think any spacers will be needed at all but if someone knows for sure it will be nice to confirm it . :)
I will find out soon enough as I have now bought all the items I needed and will test them at a ramp at my local garage once I have them with spacers on hand just in case. Hopefully I will be able to answer this question (that I have discovered has been asked a lot not just here), once and for everyone. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Well, I think if Mopar is selling it as for the QV set, it will be fitting for sure and it is from the non QV set. But ,please when you do this, post here. Many, many thanks in advance for this. :) I am planning just to remove the whole set from Veloce to QV.

Ok, it is becoming quite a saga. I bought the same space saver, used but aesthetically new, as shown above from an eBay seller in Spain for around half the price of what they are new, and am glad I did. I tried it at my friends garage last Saturday and it will clear a front calliper on a QV, just! It is only a mm or two though. The real issue is that I couldn’t get all the wheel bolts in and after much messing about we realised it is a slightly different PCD, the QV is 5x110, the space saver is 5x112 so you have two choices, either buy a set of wobble bolts as they can accommodate a 2mm difference or get a PCD adapter spacer that will also give you the clearance from the calliper. The next issue is buying a single space saver as they usually come in pairs, I have managed to find a company in the UK that will make me one for £70, the information you need to give is to convert a 5x100 65.mm CB to a 5x112 66.5mm CB with steel threaded inserts for your bolts. Or you can buy a kit from H&R but it is not cheap, this is it

To avoid all of that buy the genuine space saver offered by AR for over £850, which I refuse to pay.

Anyway, I have ordered both wobble bolts and the spacer adapter and intend to test both the weekend after next however I am nearly there. Watch this space!

Wait, what? The bolt pattern on a QV is different than on a 2.0? My space saver has gone on my car twice now with no issues with the bolts....
that I really don’t know because I cannot find definitively what the PCD is for non-QV although the space saver I bought was listed for a Stelvio and has the same Maserati part No as shown in the photos above but the PCD was off by 2mm. TBF to the seller he did say he didn’t think it would fit a QV so I bought it on a gamble, as it stands he was correct.
