Have had my Stelvio about 2 months now and had my windshield wipers and steering wheel controls go out (non-functional). Brought it into my dealer and they diagnosed it as being the body control module. Car was in the shop about a week and they replaced the bcm and reprogrammed everything. Got the car back last week, all seemed to be right again but then the same thing happened again. Wiper alert came on and they (as well as the steering wheels controls) went out again. Only had the car back for 3 days before this happened again. I know the recall addressed this concern, but seems like the proposed fix from Alfa is not working (in my case at least). Anyone else have the same issue or have any suggestions/input. Thanks!

@briantriulzi21, I did the recalls on one a month or so ago, car came back next day claiming wipers and steering wheel controls inop, brought it in, all working, checked and cleared codes and let it go, never seen it again. Possible there’s another issue but it’s fairly isolated? Not sure, that’s all I’ve seen as of yet. Not much help, I know, lol.

Did they do the wiper motor recall though? The one I had wasn’t the wiper recall but the water intrusion ones. Wiper recall needs to have the motor initialized and removed from ship mode, 8m sure they did that though since it was working.

Are you planning on taking it back in? Send me a direct message as we'd be glad to get this escalated to a Case Specialist who'll work with you and the dealer toward a solution.

They said they did the recalls already, but good point about the motor initialized. I will check with them on that. Thanks!

I am having this issue now too. A few weeks ago the infotainment controls on the wheel stopped working and then about a week ago the wiper controls stopped working. Is there a recall associated with this? I have a '20 QV.

So far the dealer has replaced the battery, tried a new wiper control stalk and checked the wiring from the control stalk to to BCM. Every time the battery is disconnected and reconnected the wipers and audio controls work for up to an hour before falling again. The dealer has now ordered a new BCM. Alfa care so far are not helping as my car is out of warranty (this issue was present when I bought the car in May and the warranty ran out in April).

BCM now replaced (part paid for by Alfa, labour by AD) and all worked fine for a week but wiper service error flashed up today and wipers and steering wheel audio controls not working again. Strangely the guide lines on the reverse camera have disappeared even though they are enabled in the settings.

Solved! There is a leak in the tube that feeds the rear washer jet. Washer fluid was leaking on the electrical connections at the top of the tailgate causing a short resulting in the wiper service warning a subsequent wiper/steering wheel audio controls/reversing camera guidelines failure.

Who found that out? Makes sense once you know but to figure out everything must not have been easy.

I did. On one occasion while the wipers were working ( they seemed to work for a few days after the battery was disconnected for a a few minutes, presumably resetting the BCM) I notice the "wiper service" warning displayed just after I had used the rear wash jet and then the wipers etc. failed. I tried this again this morning and again warning then failure. Before I bought the car the dealer replaced the rear wash jet nozzle so I thought it worth investigating. I removed the tailgate inner panels to find the wet wires and connector. I decoupled the connector, shook out the water reconnected and everything worked. I have booked in to AD tomorrow for repair.
