In May, I paid $13.10/qt for the MaxPro+ (68523988AA) at a local Dodge/Jeep/Ram dealer (I believe it's used on the Jeep Renegade). Also, my dealer tells me they charge $280 for an oil/filter change. The only one I had them do was the freebie. Did one myself, and one at a local independent shop (around $125, using Mobil1 AFE 0W-30).

One of the dealers here in NJ charges $210 for a 4C oil change (same as Stelvio). Another charges $300 for a Stelvio and $500 for the 4C. Reason? “The 4C is a special car.” LOL there is nothing special about the oil change in materials or effort. Of course the same engine is in the ex-US Guilietta cloverleaf version (1.75L turbo, 240hp).

FYI the 4C engine has some interesting features including an extraordinarily strong, full girdle bottom end, forged internals and super thin steel liner with a closed deck. It is an all-Alu evolution of a prior Fiat cast-iron block engine albeit pretty modified and a “new” engine and cylinder head. It does NOT run as much boost as the Stelvio 2L or have the multi-air valve train, and uses a simpler air-air intercooler. More boost in the 4C engine is a flow problem due to cylinder head, exhaust manifold and cat/downpipe flow restrictions designed for emissions performance. Really a 2.0 Stelvio engine is more advanced. And the TCT transmission is not rated for the same power as the ZF 8-speed even in 4 cylinder form. So much for the $300 “special” premium.

If you have ever gone shopping for a used Alfa, CarFax is a key buyers aide for looking up the car’s service history. I have always wondered how a home oil change would get recorded in the CarFax vehicle maintenance history? Anyone know the answer to this?

The owner of the car has to create a login with CarFax, and enter their maintenance history in the My Car Maintenance section of the website.
I do not know if it will then show up on the actual CarFax report, but in the My Car Maintenance section, you will see a list of all of your services that you performed, with all of the dealer services that are recorded.

Mike,

That's crazy. I just went back to the site which still shows a 'Sale Price' of $13.10.

Just to be sure it wasn't reading from a browser cache; I added it to my cart and got an even better 'Our Price' of $9.89.

It might be worth a call in the morning to check it out. $9.89 sounds like a pretty good deal unless shipping is excessive.
Also note the application for that part number is 2015-2017 Jeep Renegade. Maybe Mopar 'Alfa' parts are priced differently than Mopar 'Jeep' parts . . . who knows?

Mine is still showing $13.10. The discount went away, but the shipping which originally showed $440.00 is now free to a Jeep dealer near me. Handling is $15.00 and tax $7.73 for a total of $101.33 for 6 quarts comes to $16.89/qt. This is one click away from an actual purchase. Not great, but I've still got a couple of pre-paid oil changes left so I'm not actually buying any, I was simply curious.

We had Alfa and Fiat dealer joined together and general maintenance cost was affordable. After Maserati, Bentley, RR, and Aston martin dealer took over Alfa, maintenance cost isn`t affordable anymore. But their service is super great. no complain at all. I guess I need to work harder. :)
