A little guide of how to install it:

DO IT AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Well first you need the steering wheel buttons with ACC button EPER part number is: 156130459
also you need to have the front radar and camera, the procedure is the same for the Giulia :)

0. If you don't want to remove the battery power it is best to leave your key away from the car so it doesn't go into standby mode. Also if you car has SGW you will need a few additional steps.

1. You need to remove your steering wheel airbag. There is a clip accessible from the bottom of the airbag with a flat screw driver..you press it with the screw driver and then the airbag should come off. They are cables attached to the airbag so be careful and you also should remove them.

2. Disconnect all cables.

3. Remove steering wheel from the car, will be much easier to work this way. Then unscrew the 3 screws on the back...one behind each buttons panel and one in the bottom of the steering wheel. Then working on the bottom part of the steering wheel you need to detach the plastic cover that looks like aluminum using a a plastic screw driver for clips or something similar BUT becareful not to damage the leather on the steering wheel. They are two big plastic clips almost in the middle of the steering wheel located below the airbag. Carefully detach them.

4. Once you have the plastic cover removed you can remove the buttons. Maybe it is a good idea to install the red start stop button if you want, at this time. Buttons have their own wiring so be careful with that as well. Take your time and don't rush ,it is not a very hard job.

5. Replace buttons with the new ones. Then put everything back together.

6. Connect Multiecuscan to your ABS and check that you have your steering wheel at 0.00degrees

7. Turn on the car without starting the engine, connect Multiecuscan (MES) and go to Proxi alignment.

8. In the part where you see that you have the cruise control enabled...disable it. Go to to adaptive cruise control and enable it.

9. Do the proxi alignment. It is best to use Wifi Cantier interface (meaning latest version of the interface that has both wifi and BT) with MES as ELM327 or other interfaces might fail at some modules.

10. When the proxi alignment finishes you will have error codes in some ECUs and you need adaptation of the ABS ecu. At this point the car is in safety mode and you won't be able to move it!!! Don't freak out. BUT for just in case everything goes to ****, park the car somewhere where it can stay until the tow truck comes.

11. Go to ABS ecu and go to parameters. Check that steering wheel is at 0.00 degress meaning 100% in the center not turn left or right...then go to adjustments and do steering wheel reset.

12. After that do a brake pressure reset.

13. Also do YAW sensors reset.

14. Delete DTCs erros in the ABS unit

15. Switch off the car and wait a few mins.

16. Turn on the car again and go to engine ecu delete DTCs there as well. After the proxi alignment is finished you will have erros in many ecus. (your engine might start to shake a little....don't freak out :) in most cases it doesn't. Thing is that engine is loosing connection to ABS unit, to say it short and some other stuff.

17. After deleting dtc in engine ecu go to all other ecu and delete errors as well.

18. Switch off the car and wait.

19. Turn on the car press the cruise control and acc buttons and look at the display to see if the icons do appear.

20. Find a nice road and with a friend of front of you try the ACC and learn how it works... also read the owners manual before that.

21. Always look at the road ahead and be prepared to brake.

22. Enjoy your rides an be safe

Yep :) I forget to mention that will add it in the first post. Thank you.

and also at this time you won't get ABS ecu software update (the recall about ACC) maybe in the future.

I will look for a way to get that ABS software update...best thing is to add sales codes for your additional options using witech. ACC is NH3 in EU after that most probably you will get the update.

It was a tight fit on mine as well...we manage by putting it back almost flat towards the wheel...if you get what I mean. so you can put the clips back in their place. The "hardest" part was the bottom where you have to be careful with the leather.

Just take your time, if it doesn't go in the right direction...leave for 30 mins have a drink or something and then try again calm :)

Well this was my second sterring wheel which I bought to get the acc module, but well now I think it was a bad Idea I should have just replace steering wheel ? I am just not sure if it's heated ( mine is.. ) and no idea how to check this - eper doesn't find any of codes on the wheel.. but well worst case scenario heating won't work if I am correct. Also can you tell me what is the size of the socket wrench I will needed to deattach steering wheel from the car?

Also I believe the best option would be to disconnect battery I know it's in the back of the car but I can't find it I can see spare tire only. Should I remove it or there is some other access to it?

#10 ·
I am not 100% sure but I think the socket wrench was like 19mm or so (or a lot more). BUT it is good to have someone to help you for a second to hold the steering wheel.
Thanks ? finally managed to install module.. replaced module without removing steering wheel from the car and successfully activated.. now testing with some additional attention.. hopefully I will manage to get upgrade that is done due to recall

If you don't get the recall, just be extra aware. A second, harder tap of the brake pedal will get it to turn off. Also the on/off button on the steering wheel...that always works.

Nice write up!

If you are going to do this yourself, a second set of hands always helps. Patience is a requirement, give yourself lots of time especially if it is your first time doing something like this. Also remember rules of computer upgrades apply here. Make sure the area is clean and static free, that includes you. Wash your hands well and discharge built up static electricity and yeah you should disconnect the battery - if you don't and you screw up bad, you can get the airbag firing in your face....good way to have a bad day. Also helps avoid accidental shorts, again if you are being klutzy and screw up something. Follow those steps, with careful - patient movements, and there shouldn't be an issue. Don't ever yank.

Ok, I have a dumb question.... How do you know if you have the front camera? I think I have finally located a used Stelvio that meets most of what I want. No flappy paddles or ACC and the head unit is only the 6.5" with I assume no HD radio (may be a deal breaker). It does have the Driver Assist Static with front sensors option and forward collision warning.

#13 ·
If you have the FCW and driver assist you have for sure the camera.

OR you can just look outside the front windshield in the middle and look for the camera of front of your rear view mirror :)

I failed at this install after errors after proxy alignment scared the **** out of me. I had the dealer just restore to normal. This thread gives me new hope so thank you! I really think, though, that all you need to do from a hardware standpoint is pull the blank plastic cover off the space on the steering wheel module where the ACC button is supposed to go. Underneath IS THE SWITCH!! All you have to do is replace the blank cover with the button from a module from a car with ACC. You don't need to switch the entire module! you don't need to dismantle the steering whee! you don't need to risk setting off the airbag!

OR AT LEAST THAT IS MY GUESS...

Can anyone verify??

#22 ·
Having the shiny black piece doesn't mean anything as the cars without the radar also have it. If you have the menus for FCW on your navy screen then you have it. If yes then you need the button.... but also in order to program the car if it is manufactured 2018 and on you most probably have the SGW and you need the bypass module for that. There is a friend of mine who makes them in Poland and also has a dealer for the US

#21 ·
Do you mean the rear view camera ( with the parking sensors) or ?

Has anyone ever tried this on a 2020 Stelvio? I wanna do this so badly but also sh*t scared. I see the ACC button layout has changed for 2020, Does this mean anything while Reconfiguring the Multiecuscan?

20667

Is it possible to do the same with Lane keep Assist and Lane Departure Warning? and I am unable to get hold of the ACC button part anywhere. can you advise? Thank you very much @KGB.

#25 ·
Haven't tried that yet.... Will look that week for the part number for MY20 and let you know.

Una piccola guida su come installarlo:

FALLO A TUO RISCHIO E RISCHIO.

2. Scollegare tutti i cavi.

3. Remove steering wheel from the car, will be much easier to work this way. Then unscrew the 3 screws on the back...one behind each buttons panel and one in the bottom of the steering wheel. I bought a used quad steering wheel with the red start button and acc button. It should be a straight swap to add the wheel. Has anyone had issues/success with this install procedure with multiecuscan? I hope the new wheel is heated, anyway to tell before install? Thanks!

Hello everyone,
I am new to the forum.
I just turned in a 2018 Stelvio Sport, that I absolutely loved and drove away from the dealer with a new 2021 Stelvio TI.
The first time I went on the Turnpike I realized I cannot live with all the nannies this new Stelvio has.
First and foremost is the Active Cruise Control that is driving me crazy, slowing the car down when there is no need for it.
Second is the Beeping alert when a car in front of me suddenly slows down or slams on the brakes.
I tried to turn all these driver's aids off, but I see they never are really off and when I re-start the car they are back on.
Does any one knows how to either turn them off permanently or to disconnect them ?
When I drive I do not need these electronic gizmos to second guess me.

Hi KGB
I got a used ACC button from a Stelvio QV and want to fit it to my Giulia QV, I was told to a new part as the mileage on the Stelvio could confuse or jump over to my Giulia.
Any advice is much appreciated.

Nothing is stored in the buttons, so go ahead... and BTW we installed many Stelvio buttons on Guilia ... have to find the time to make the downhill button work.
