Hello, I bought a 2022 Stelvio Veloce 9 days ago. It was immediately apparent to me that there was an issue with some lurching/ stall like motions when I step on the gas pedal. It feels like the car is giving a lot of resistance to take off from a stationary position. I drive in automatic since I’ve never driven a stick shift. I took the chance of driving it for a few days to see if it improved but it hasn’t. I’ve tried all 3 drive modes (DNA) and no change. I find myself praying to reach my destination each time I drive my car because the car feels like it’s dying. I’m beginning to believe that I’ve been sold a lemon (😖😖😖). Has anyone else experienced this and what possible issues would cause this to happen? Also, what recommendations would you give for resolving this issue?

Nothing to indicate that there’s a problem. Not even an alarm. Surprisingly, I traded my 2018 Stelvio for the same problem and was told that it was the radiator. There’re no leaks on this new car or even evidence of one having occurred……….unless the dealer did an excellent cleaning job before I bought it. I’m lost for words but would like to get suggestions of possible problems before I take it back to them for a check…..so that they don’t bullshit me

Does it idle OK? With the transmission in neutral how fast does the engine RPM increase if you floor the throttle from idle? If that is OK but it doesn't accelerate when in gear, then maybe some brakes are rubbing.

Have you put any gas in it yet? Or is it still using the gas it came with?

Try filling it up with good quality premium.

Have them check to see if a new fuel filter helps. Check the plugs to see if they are past due for replacement.

How many miles on your 2022?

Are you stepping on the throttle pedal, or are you STOMPING on it to get moving real fast real quick?
How hot is it where you live right now, and do you have the a/c on when you are having this issue?

I'm guessing that its all Turbo lag related, and this owner probably has a heavy foot.

How long did you own your 2018 for before you traded it in for this 2022?
And you had the exact same lack of acceleration issue, which is why you decided to buy the 2022, which it also must have had during the test drive, since both had the same problem.

I think you need to buy a completely different vehicle, that doesn't have a small turbocharged 4 cylinder engine.

The car has 5622 miles. I am stepping slowly On the pedal but need to press a bit harder when it feels close to a stall. I owned the 2018 stelvio for 4 yrs prior to the trade in but only started to have the same problem about 3 months ago. When I bought the 2018 and up until recently, I didn’t have that issue.
