Maxcare warranty coverage without service records

Just purchased a 2020 Ti Sport with 26,000 miles on it. It didn't come with any service records and Carfax only shows a single oil change service from when the dealer changed it before selling it to me.

I was considering buying an extended Maxcare warranty but read that some claims could be rejected without service records. Without oil service records for the first 26k miles would a Maxcare warranty not cover engine related issues? Would it exlcude coverage of other parts? Suggestions on how to proceed?

Thanks

An Alfa with no service history? 😱

A couple of thoughts. First CarFax information is only as good as the data that is reported. I know for a fact, that not one of my Alfa dealer services on my 2017 Giulia ever showed on CarFax and I probably had at least 7-8 service visits in the time I owned the car.

The only data on the CarFax were the visits to JiffyLube for annual state inspections, and even those notes were wrong in terms of what services were performed.

If it were me, I’d stop by my nearest Alfa dealer and ask them to pull the service history on the car and see what turns up. It’s unimaginable (and incredibly frightening) to think there was actually no service performed in the first 25k miles.

Depending on what you find, give one of the MOPAR MaxCare dealers that sell these plans at discount prices a call to discuss your options. Getting a ‘used car’ MaxCare plan was likely going to require a detailed inspection by an Alfa Dealer regardless of service history.

So I decided to call some Alfa dealers today in the area where I purchased mine from and fortunately found one of the dealers had performed 3 services/oil changes at 7K, 16K, and 25K miles. They wouldn't provide the official service records but were happy to email me the relevant information. That resolves my concerns about maintaining the factory warranty and as well extending it. Thanks everyone for the suggestion!
